Heroine
You will be my heroine for all of time
You will be what brings me warmth
And you are
What I draw in
And draw on
And allow flow through me
This beautiful river
Through my flesh
That I need
And need too badly
I wish I didn’t
Yet never want to give up
Which makes me shake and writhe
And calms me when I have it
But poisons me when I take it

You were all
The things one could ever want you to be
You have a brain and a beauty
Wrapped in strength
Amazing more than anything
I’ve ever known

You are it all
You love deeply
Strongly
You wish to save
You soothe
You pain
At the same time

You are the quintessential woman
The prototype of femininity
And yet
With all of this
The way you stand demure
You are so real
So honest
You allow yourself to be held and touched
Yet never wholly possessed
And never realizing
That you are the possessor
You will be my heroin for all of time
