QUESTIONS FOR
A BOUNTY HUNTER

"Who sent you to find me?"
A glance
of steel
"you'll know. Soon enough."
Silk rope
slides
under his practiced hand
"How much did he pay you?"
A tug. A try.
A smile – tsk, tsk.
"Does it matter?"
Nonchalance
I'm secure
A boot crunches,
steps away
"How could you?"
He turns,
that gaze
of steel
"It's what I do."
Caught
in the
metal
of his eyes.
