How do I Search Literotica for Stories by Subject Matter, Date, or Author?

Literotica has published hundreds of thousands of stories by tens of thousands of authors since the 1990s, and our community continues to publish thousands of new stories every week. Finding stories that match your interests in the Literotica archive is fast and easy using the Category Hubs, Tags Portal, or Literotica Search. If you’re looking for a specific story that you haven’t been able to find by any other means, we also have a dedicated forum called “Looking For A Story” where you can get help from other Literotica Members.

Finding Stories by Author

If you’re reading a story by an author you enjoy, you can access a list of all of the stories the author has published by clicking their Literotica Member Name. You can also search for stories by a specific author using the Advanced Options (click the gear icon) in Literotica Search. Once you find an author whose work you enjoy, Follow the author to be alerted (in your Literotica control panel) when they publish new work.

Browsing Stories by Category

You can browse all of the stories ever published on Literotica, sorted by category, by clicking on any Category Name on the Site Index page.

Reading New Stories

All stories published to Literotica within the last 7 days can be found, listed in chronological order (newest to oldest), in our New Stories section.

Browsing by Story Tags

The Literotica Tags Portal allows you to filter stories by one or more Story Tag, as well as optionally filtering by Category. Story Tags are keywords added to stories by the author to help readers find them. The Tags Portal is one of the most powerful ways to filter stories by interest that is available on Literotica.

Literotica Search

If you’ve tried browsing categories and tags, and you still want to dig deeper into the story archive, you can use Literotica Search. Search allows you to explore the Literotica story archive by date, category, author, story title, full story text, and special criteria.

If you type a word or phrase into the Search For Stories field, search results will show stories that include your search word or phrase in their title or story text.

When you enter multiple search terms, Literotica search defaults to AND logic (the opposite of OR logic), so all search terms that you enter must be present in the results. You can modify the default logic to make your search more targeted, or use the Advanced Search (gear icon) to get highly personalized results.

Using more advanced search operators (Boolean operators) is possible to narrow your search further. That may sound complicated, but it’s easy. You can either use the natural English operators AND, OR, and NOT, or you can use the plus and minus symbols. The following operators are available in Literotica Search.

Literotica Search Operators

+ (plus sign) or AND - the word following must be present in every story returned.

- (minus sign) or NOT - the following word must not be present in any story returned.

OR - the word before or after this word must be present (opposite of AND).

“” (quotes around a phrase) - this specific phrase, as typed in quotes, must be present in every story returned.

Here are some search operator examples:

apple banana - find stories that contain both words.

apple AND banana - find stories that contain both words.

+apple +juice - find stories that contain both words.

apple OR juice - find stories that contain either of these words.

apple NOT juice - find stories that contain the first word but do not contain the second word.

+apple -juice - find stories that contain the first word but do not contain the second word.

+apple -macintosh -computer - find stories that contain the first word, but not the second or third words.

apple NOT macintosh NOT computer - find stories that contain the first word, but not the second or third words.

“some words” - find stories that contain the exact phrase “some words”, but not “some pretty words” or “some naughty words”.

There may be other search operators available as well.
