Also, I first had to re-read the final chapter of ATR as I really enjoyed the way you brought the conclusion to it and your wonderful writing. First it’s nice to see Dani getting the eye covers removed. As others have said they can see some of Michelle in Dani. The way Alan is controlling Dani like Michelle’s last client did to her with hair style and color. Alan truly is wooing her to maybe becoming his mistress on a permanent basis in Tampa or a more regular visitor when schools out (without Robert). They both are playing on Robert’s jealous senses with no release for him and having to watch or listen. Friday can’t come soon enough for him or us. Yes, there still plenty in the story that tells us that Dani loves Robert. But it’s thinning out and his presence seems to be pretty inconsequential to her now. Like others, I wonder if this is going the way of the original Michelle.
Alan stirs up strong emotions for Dani. She’s told us: “I was only eighteen and in love with my man. Circumstances interfered and I have had a wonderful life with the man I subsequently chose. No regrets. (But) It would be so easy to get caught up in those old emotions and go too far, way too far, sparking those emotions back into a raging torrent.
